The school was established in 1929 and is considered as one of the top film school found in the States today. The school provides their undergraduates with degrees and programs for Bachelor in Fine Arts (BFA) or Bachelor of Arts (BA). Their programs cover production for television and film, animation, criticism, screenwriting, interactive media, and producing. Most of the graduates actually have a bigger chance of getting a job in the industry since the school is located in the center for the United State's film industry.

Another school found on the east coast is the NYU or New York University film school. Classes for their undergraduate students would involve production, film history, editing, animation, acting, directing, audio production, film criticism and scriptwriting. Graduate students can obtain a degree on a dual MFA and Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Producing or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Film-making.
